TIL: All the servers have dementia at The Restaurant of Mistaken Orders in Tokyo. Shiro Oguni founded the restaurant to raise awareness and celebrate the quirks of living with that condition. The restaurant says that even though 37% of the orders are delivered wrong, 99% of customers are happy.https://www.npr.org/2023/08/23/1195387866/the-servers-all-have-dementia-at-the-resta…#til #todayilearnedhttps://www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/comments/183t5ce/til_all_the_servers_have_dementia_at_the/

@todayilearned I would totally go here for dinner. I'd be disappointed if they got my order correct...that would defeat the purpose.Restaurant of Mistaken Orders*Reposting Linkhttps://www.npr.org/2023/08/23/1195387866/the-servers-all-have-dementia-at-the-restaurant-of-mistaken-orders-in-tokyo

@todayilearned there's something very similar - but not quite - in Berlin. A restaurant called "Kurhaus #Korsakow", named after Russian Neuropsychiatrist #Korsakoff and the syndrome he described. The waiters hopefully do not suffer from it, but I've noticed that they frequently get back to you asking what you wanted to drink although you've just ordered it. Maybe it's just frequently partying hospitality business workers getting not enough sleep. It's enjoyable after all.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korsakoff_syndrome?wprov=sfla1
