@graf I can't decide what router to get to include normal ethernet and at least 4 SFP+ slots. I mean, I have a mikroTIK one, but holy shit are they impossible to understand. A while back it decided to be slow (several seconds) on each DNS lookup, no idea why. Had to reset it and now I can't remember what I did to get DHCP working. After a couple of days of screwing around with microTIK, I really don't like them.DDWRT is much nicer.

@soapone @graf When I got Internet connection above 100 Mb/s, routers couldn't do all the features and also have the amount of speed I was getting from the ISP. For that, you can run https://opnsense.org/ on any desktop computer from the last 10-15 years and it simply werks, and also has a suite of tools that you'd want from a firewall appliance or a linux distro. It apparently will also work with SFP add-in cards, maybe with a little fussing. (https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/intel-sfp-card-not-compatible.85348/) Then, turning your existing router into a plain access point tends to make it speedier, too.
