@tuxedocomputers VS Code isn't actually open source, VS Codium is. They've added proprietary additions to the standard VS Code (presumably mainly for telemetry, but there's no easy way to tell)

@tuxedocomputers afaik, VS Code is a proprietary Microsoft product. And even though you technically can compile an Open Source version of it (e.g. VS Codium), such a version does not have access to MS's Marke to place, i.e. most plugins.

@tuxedocomputers Of this list, I use VS Code the most, but I'd switch to neovim if it didn't exist (and I'm tempted to switch to neovim every so often anyway), but Firefox is the most indispensable piece of software for me, as it's the only full-featured browser with an engine that's not de-facto owned by Google or Apple
