@neil Much of the discarded-phone pollution could be resolved IMHO by restoring replaceable batteries to the design. A lot of folks are entirely satisfied with their existing phone -- which just stopped working when the battery failed.

@Sbectol @neil Fair enough, and enhanced by the fact that those updates and patches cost Actual Money to produce. The money comes from selling new phones, not patching old ones.
