Like, earlier, I was listening to the Ted the Caver story, and I was like "I wouldn't even notice this stuff because it is so similar to my daily experience of perceptual disturbances and hallucinations. I would just assume all of this stuff to be hallucinations, and continue as normal" - which isn't to say that these things aren't stressful. Quite the opposite, really. Anyways. I guess I'm just whining, at this point. Just wanted to vent. Have a good night, and stay safe, everyone

Currently hearing car doors slam inside my own house. I know that there are no cars in my house, and there is no way that there could be car doors slamming inside my house - despite this knowledge, I hear car doors slamming inside my house, just in the other room, and down the stairs, and in the attic, and I know that they are being slammed by people who are exiting these nonexistent vehicles for the purpose of my extermination. Rationally, I understand this to be ridiculous. Primaly? Terrified

@qurlyjoe mostly just careful rationalisation of events, controlled breathing, splashing cold water on the face, control of other sensory stimuli to try to eliminate possibility that the disturbances are real, I also defer a lot to the perception of my dogs, and I have a partner who understands and supports me in ways I could never ask him to

@qurlyjoe I also take a whack load of meds, and carefully control my lifestyle re: diet, sleep, exercise, time in public, and a whole bunch of other stuff

@qurlyjoe and when things get really nuts, I try to always remind myself that I'm prone to persecutory delusions and hallucinations, so it's best that I go to the ER and check to see if I'm in psychosis before becoming violent because I'm concerned that any person or people are trying to kill me

@fcktheworld587 Well, in a sort of microcosmic version of a First World Problem kinda thing, I was sitting here feeling concern for you, and wonder at your courage to mention it matter of factly as you did, and curious about a mindscape different than my own, and wary of overstepping, of intruding, and high af from the edible I had before dinner tonight.
