I think as humans we tend to look at other people and assume we are "weird" or different, but the reality is we have way more in common than we think. Everyone deals with depression, shyness, loneliness, and anxiety, this is the Human condition, you will never be alone in this. So, don't confuse the Facebook version of people's lives for the real thing. But let's go deeper, what if you fall into the LGBTQ+ category. The number that has always been stated is around 10%, but understand, this is a Kinsey number from 1948. More recent data and research has revealed that the number is iffy at best. First of all, we just haven't been asking, that number was never based on any reliable data. In the last 10 years, when they have asked in a more scientific manner that number has doubled and even tripled in some areas. And let's not forget there are still many many closeted people, or people who just haven't figured it out yet. The other thing I want to talk about is Neurodivergence. This is an area rife with misinformation. The number right now is around 20% of the population, but let's dissect this a bit. Neurodivergence is a pretty big umbrella covering a lot of things, so it can be complicated just in that. But many people are just never diagnosed, for many reasons, they just never realize it, they're afraid ask, afraid of medication, afraid for people to think there is something wrong with them, or they simply just can't afford medical care. Many experts think the number is much much larger, and 20% is already pretty significant.Humans like categorizing things, it makes us feel safe and in control. For instance, many people tell me they are introverted, so other people don't understand that too much peopling is taxing for them. The reality is most people can understand that. Most people fall into the what is called ambiversion. This is where you can enjoy being around people, but eventually it's exhausting and you need a break. I'm not saying true introverts and extroverts don't exist, but a lot of us tend to fall into needing socialization and rest. The point of all of this is that often we have more in common than we think, we are less alone than we think. Even if you are "weird" and different, SO WHAT?! The world needs lots of kinds of people to run, you are a valid and worthy being. Be kind, help in the ways you can, love and appreciate people, but please remember you also deserve to be loved and appreciated too, just how you are.

@RickiTarr I think the human need to categorize people and behaviors is kinda weird. Like why do we do this? Sure, sure we want to understand our place in things, but it's not necessary.IMO, everyone is a little gay and a little divergent.Humans are like sliding scales. Most of us probably sit in the middle of what's considered normal, that's why it's considered "normal." But ALL of us will venture towards the edges in the right scenario.

@QueenOfCoffee @RickiTarr Indeed! Even our body temperature is really just a mean average of the gamut of "normal" human temperatures.

@RickiTarr @Alan @QueenOfCoffee That's why they generally define it as 2 degrees higher (I am one of your people and I just tell them if I have one or not... they don't know the difference and I always do lol 😆)
