As a Jewish person whose grandparents fled Eastern Europe and wound up in Israel, helping to build that nation, let me explain what the real deal is with throwing that word Zionist around, that is how to tell me you are a anti-semite without telling me you are an antisemite. All Zionist means is that the people understand they have a right to a nation. Unfortunately antisemites have turned this word into something ugly. Zionism is simply taking pride in Israel, but sadly, that won't bring back my grandfather's 10 brothers and sisters who didn't survive the Holocaust

I'm with you on this, @SMetzeler. I don't understand why electing a Libertarian is bad if he supports Zionism. It's my understanding that Zionism simply refers to the establishment of the nation of Israel (and it's been well established for a long time now), and the notion that members of the Jewish diaspora should be allowed to move to Israel. I don't see anything wrong with this. It is their homeland, after all. And the land that Jews own was not taken by force, but was purchased through voluntary transactions. I'm perfectly ok with this, and oppose violence against the Jews.I find it strange that so many people who are otherwise quite nationalistic find it necessary to get so caught up in a conflict in a foreign country between two parties completely unrelated to us. I get not wanting to go to war for Israel. I don't either. But to hate Israel on behalf of Jordanian Muslims just doesn't make sense to me.

@teutoburg09 I wish the United States would have spent all that Ukraine $ on conquering the ME and giving the whole place to Israel. I don’t want to fight, but there are lots of guys who love that. They can do it.
