War has changed forever. In Ukraine, the use of cheap first person view drones against Russian invaders seems to be increasing, and for good reason. With a drone the size of one of nature's blackbirds, Ukrainian drone operators are able to hunt down individual Russian soldiers, like predator birds hunt their prey.In a recent video, this tactic is filmed by an observation drone flying above the attack.1/2

Picture 1: A small first person view drone (red circle) stears directly towards a Russian soldier. The Russian soldier opens small arms fire, but in less than a second, the drone hits.Picture 2: Impact.Ukraine is producing thousands of these FPV drones in drone factories. For the price of a few hundred dollars, Russian soldiers are killed without a single Ukrainian soldier being exposed to Russian fire.2/2

@pthenq1 this kind of desensitization is extremely dangerous imho. You have the exact same video of Russian Lancet drones and pro russian people reacts with delight. It is true what @randahl said, Ukraine war changed our perception of war, now it looks like a videogame and there are thousands of people enjoying the sight of soldiers' exploding limbs. In the past snuff movies were rare and obscene. Now people react with emojis to some random person being blown up to bits

@Karamels I agree with that. This is why I am not sharing the video, which is extremely ugly.I carefully chose these two stills because they do not reveal in bloody detail what happens to the Russian soldier's body. Yet, they show enough, to document that what I am saying is real.To me there is a dilemma here. I do not want to celebrate suffering, but at the same time,I feel it is important, we discuss the realities of the war, so we do NOT think it is just a game.

@randahl I agree, it is a dilemma. I watch those myself to understand the realities of war, but I dont want to share them, so I appreciate ypur choice. Still I understand it is serious footage and it can be used for the common good, I just find it impossible to rejoice. The oldest members of my family went through heavy bombings in 1943 and risked their life in shelters, and they still got Ptsd in 2011 at the beginning of the Syrian war wathcing children sheltering.

@Karamels I would really love if you revealed your location on your profile. It is hard to understand your context, when you write what you just did.

@randahl Italy. my grandmother was in her early teens when she risked her life under heavy bombings. I am existing for sheer luck, and because my grandfather deserted and escaped war and this is how the family survived. this is why I cannot stand people *enjoying* war. I support Ukrainian and Palestinian and Kurdish defensive wars but I cannot stand people who are in safe countries that drools over dead bodies.

@Karamels @randahl I am not going to watch the full video and I do not watch videos with that level of details. In general, I do not watch videos of people dying. I consider that moment a very intimate moment and I respect it.It is important to make clear:* an invader dead is a good dead.* there's always, for each russian, the option of not going to Ukraine. Yes, a russian refusing to go will be arrested and will spend years in prison. They will live too.* clearly there's bad people here. It is not the same ukranians dying than russians dying. There's a moral obligation of killing invaders for the ukranians. And each victory is a celebration.* we have, as Americans, a moral obligation to assist the ukranians, providing resources to complete their task. The russian under the bomb had the option to not go. And after that, he had the option to call to the Ukrainians and surrender. He choose differently. And he was converted in fertilizer without hurting victims. And that is a good thing.
