@stux technically it's not "theft" since you didn't take an oblect away from their possession.It's merely use of works that at best are copyrighted withoit a license.#NotLegalAdvice but claiming "copying is theft" is just #Contentmafia bs to crack down on filesharing...

@stux The holder of NTF does now own the image, and does not own the copyright. It really is just a way to confirm that someone 'called dibs on the original' (and paid for the call), and a way to ensure that only one person can call dibs. That's all it is. It is a joke from the time when money was cheap, and people had to come up with some way to use it.

@stux I know it's been fun making fun of people that own NFTs, but whenever you make a parody out of them, remember, NFT doesn't mean you can't use these pictures for whatever you like, NFTs mean the picture you use is owned by a wallet / person, verified on the blockchain. Pure technology, but being misused by a lot. Just think about Tor: you won't say Tor is a criminal network, just because criminals obviously want to hide their activity with Tor.

@kkarhan If a creative work doesn't have a license, it's proprietary and it may not be legally distributed without a license from the copyright holder.Although, "NFT"s are publicly available, meaning that looking at the image or you saving a copy for later viewing has been authorized.

@stux in the 90s you could buy a certificate that a star was named after you. Well not the official name thought for it was just a combination of letters and numbers. But SOMEBODY had a register with the unique star connected to your name then. And probably a lot of money. And it appears to me, that not even the idea of NFTs is something new.
