Just a warning to any of you who still think that adblock is only going to get better, the MV3 transition has started up again. Adblock is basically dead for the normies very soon, the only solution will be integrated solutions like what Brave does https://developer.chrome.com/blog/resuming-the-transition-to-mv3/

As for the MV3 version of Ublock Origin called Ublock Origin Lite it will simply never be as powerful as what the tool can currently do and this is by design https://www.reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin/comments/17wu2gz/comment/k9kydzt/

@10volt Mozilla has said they're keeping around MV2 and will offer developers either as an option, as for Chromium basically Brave, Vivaldi and Opera (If you're that kind of person) are all that matters

@BrodieOnLinux @10volt Being that the Mozilla Foundation is Google's bitch (money, ya know), I wouldn't trust that much. Or, at least, I'd expect to Firefox to remove MV2 at some point. As for the Chromium-based browsers you mentioned, it'd be a good idea to see if their integrated ad-blockers don't depend on the API Google is trying to deprecate (which it's something I don't know).

@BrodieOnLinux What about things like Quidsup's NoTrack? https://quidsup.net/notrack/I know it won't be for the average user. But it might still be an option. I'm surprised it doesn't get more press. Quidsup was a big name in Linux for a long time.

@BrodieOnLinux I believe the most practical solution would be if UBO partners with Mozilla to provide an integrated solution for Firefox.

@10volt @BrodieOnLinux unlock origin (not lite) would technically be able to be ported to mv3 on Firefox. Mozilla (at least as of 2021) will be keeping the webRequest api around in mv3. It will end up like the DNS api where only ff supports it.https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2021/05/27/manifest-v3-update/

@BrodieOnLinux I know you know this, but uBO works best on Firefox anyway https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/uBlock-Origin-works-best-on-Firefox

@BrodieOnLinux most chromium forks except edge said they will support mv2 so chromium users should be good provided they're not using Google chrome or edgeIf Google bans it from the play store like they did with ad nauseum then they're screwed
