Okay this is gonna piss off a lot of comics fans but… Petition to not have facial scars under Victor von Doom's mask when he's introduced. (And if you can't imagine how it'd still work with Doom's ego and his vanity and his pride and his sense of having FAILED to best RICHARDS, then I just dunno what to tell you)

Would MAYbe be okay with the original version of him having a single small cut on his chin, and donning the mask out of vanity.Because THAT shifts it to DOOM being shitty about the idea of scarring being "Shameful" rather than the supposed heroes looking at his face in disgust and horror.

@Wolven Good call. Reminds me of how, in the seminal THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, Harvey Dent was no less villainous when he had a normal face. Because (as we sort of knew all along) his madness and angst weren't merely skin-deep.

@Wolven there's a comedy show called Norsemen that did this really well. The main bad guy was obsessed with his hair. When he started losing it, he went completely psycho. Like...burn down the village so nobody will mock him for his bald spot.

@Wolven except a lot of his backstory has him being a villain because of how people treat him. Doom has a number of iterations where hes an anti-hero rather a villain. Not to the extent Magneto is but theres a lot of plotline which details redeeming qualities and a fair amount of depth.A lot of the 616 Doom is built on being rejected because people hate him on sight. Reed Richards is a fucking cop. I do not like the guy. Or Stark.

@CatHat And that still works with his family lineage being Roma. In fact, it works BETTER if they do it right and aren't cowards.The introduction of Doom, which almost certainly WILL be as a villain, should not— SHOULD NOT— depend on a correlation with facial scarring or differences.
