Gut feeling: centralised entertainment services are struggling. Price hikes at Netflix, Apple TV etc. Intrusive ads on YouTube. The Bandcamp story. There's a crisis coming. Can we come up with decentralised solutions?

@jwildeboer Peertube comes to mind, at least for youtube. But let's face it: the interesting part of these services are the TV series they produce. That, decentralised solutions won't be able to duplicate.

@ParadeGrotesque My personal problem is that I need a bunch of subscriptions to $COMPANY instead of subscriptions to $SERIESX. I'd really like to have a Pay Per Show solution instead of a Pay Per Studio thing. The current solution is Cable TV but with TCP/IP ;)

@jwildeboer @ParadeGrotesque Amazon offers a lot of this, but it is very expensive. A season of a show can cost more than several months of a subscription.

@richard_merren @jwildeboer You can also buy whole seasons on YouTube and Google Home.I have found them reasonably priced.
