@Awoo Me too but all the guys my age that seem aware of the world have their roots in it. Gamergate really DID do so much, I argue it even got trump the white house. Were it not for his ardent memetic guys working online, he’d never have gotten the energy and notoriety he did.Not to mention gamergate RUINED games. Back then it seemed like everything would just keep getting better, and the hobby would be awesome forever - to the point it was almost scary. Kids would say “geez I don’t know if I even want to get married, have to listen to some bitch yell at me for playing vidya all the time? no thanks!”

Many figured the journalists were corrupt before but never to such a scale where you see them literally all collaborating on a narrative and most importantly, so openly. As time went on, all of the rhetoric the dogshit journalists spout started to spread through every facet of media, politics, and even academia.
