@bonifartius@qoto.org I 'member when I had a simple 2 line patch to completely remove all the cruft from #Firefox at compile time. Then they changed the way these configs are included, and nobody on their IRC channel was willing to help me find out where it had gone so I could remove it. The response was "well show us a patch with what you want or we won't help you", but I was there because I _couldn't_ make a patch for it anymore. It's so tedious and pointless. And #Mozilla keeps wondering why their marketshare is declining year after year (even though exec compensation rises astronomically...).

@tadzik@social.tadzik.net That doesn't look great either, no. I guess at least "performance reasons" can be seen as a viable argument in favour of not "fixing" this issue. I don't know of any argument to make sending proper emails this fucking tedious. There are many times I would like an alternative GUI email client, but I can't seem to find any that support a calendar and a consolidated inbox without a plethora of manual effort and/or plugins.

@bonifartius@qoto.org That's basically how it works for me too. I will only accept a free and open source browser because I am not retarded, but the choices aren't great in that sphere anymore. Firefox has the addons I desire (ublock, umatrix, sponsorblock, to name a few), and a means to get the layout as desired (though every release they work hard to make this more difficult as well). The Web has been fucked hard enough to make it practically impossible to build a new web browser that actually improves on the existing ones.
