       @graf The OS install options in the portal/dashboard are like opening an old time capsule. Did you get the IPMI console to work on your colocrossing dedi?

       @GuitarHijinx yeah that isn't the one you want. it's not self explanatory at all, but you get to IP range assignments. the IPMI is located in the 107.x.x.x range. it'll be that IP +3 octets so if your IP assignment is 107.x.x.10 the IPMI IP will be 107.x.x.13. you will have to ask them for the IPMI credentials in a ticket tho it's not posted in the console area at all

       @graf I ended up with a prepaid year server on a E3-1240 server with ColoCrossing, with a 512 GB single SSD drive. ColoCrossing and others ultimately offered better "black friday" deals, including drive bundles. I now believe that E3-1240 servers are a complete commodity, so most should shop around.

       @GuitarHijinx yeah I got that config for 19$/mo, it runs our minecraft because ColoCrossing IP space is blacklisted a lot of places so you will have issues for example with email deliverability (if you host an email server) if you want a great deal email sales@crunchbits.com and tell them I told you to email them and I'll make sure you get a deal
