I am starting a blog. Maybe a bit late to the party but better late than never 😅.http://somethingfast.net/Will be about nerd stuff I like to play with in my spare time. Some current topics are around #freebsd and #lua. There is a bit of content already. Not everything set up yet, e.g. TLS/SSL is not there. But useable, I think. I will share this in the #fediverse only. Am curious how much interest that generates.

@matthew i am kind of fascinated with Lua. The language is small and relatively simple. It is possible to understand it completely with relative little effort. Much smaller than Python, for example. Despite this it is really versatile, you just find yourself quickly coding a solution, instead of pulling in a library. Plus, if used embedded in an application, it allows for some fascinating use cases.

I am not yet proficient in Lua, but my son is and is writing all kinds of interesting things with it. We have plans to use it in some projects.
