@stux but it's a way to deflect the conversation, a way to deflect any acknowledgement that Mr. T is, in fact, deranged, corrupt, racist, ... er, all the things that he says we are, though even I hesitate to call him "vermin."My brothers do this to me. We are of the same family but not of the same mind. Not by a long shot. It is impossible to discuss Mr. T with them. They'd rather talk about Mr. B & ascribe to him all that they don't want to discuss about Mr. T. I just keep poking them.

@stux Exactly the same problem exists in Britain. The Conservatives have done untold damage to the UK, and we really don't want to risk having them round any longer. They even have a tory 'woke finder general' now: Esther Mcvey whose job it is to root out the 'wokerati'. How does she propose to identify a wokerati? What will she do with them? It's like a very bad surrealistic fairy story.

@stux sadly we all have Mr. T's lurking about. Unfortunately we don't rise up soon enough, we just assume everyone else will see the danger, the cruelty of what they are saying. As old fart, I am distressed by the rush to authoritarianism. I wonder whether it is brought on by the helplessness we ALL feel about the problems we face in this world. We want a solution. We want killing to stop. We want our earth to be safe. We want the rich to share with the poor. We want something done.

@stux this is a prime example of how excusing the bad actions allow it to be normalized in the next generation. I try to catch this habit when it happens and ask the deflector if what they are excusing is acceptable for our leadership. It hopefully helps them realize bad behavior should not be acceptable regardless the organization.
