Hmm.. ik kreeg zojuist een (oplichtings) smsje met daarin dat ik "bunq moet updaten via een website blabla" en natuurlijk is dit spamMaar.. wat ik me nu afvraag. Ik ben erg voorzichtig met m'n nummber, hoe heeft een attacker mijn nummer plus het feit dat ik Bunq gebruik 🤔 Screenshot gemaakt en chat met Bunq gestart, ofc zullen ze een datalek never toegeven but still

@stux Is Bunq a popular/large bank?Then it's probably just a randomly-generated number and they're trying their luck.I'm getting the odd phishing email - 'from' banks where I don't have an account [and to email addresses I only use for irrelevant stuff]. Could be something similar.

@stux Bing says it's a Dutch bank, founded in Amsterdam (plus sent to a Dutch phone number?) - that would explain why it's in Dutch.

@stux misschien was het gewoon toeval. Ik heb van anderen ook gehoord dat ze deze Bunq sms ontvangen hadden, terwijl ze daar niet eens een rekening hebben.

@stux bij welke bank je zit weten ze niet, dat is gewoon toeval. Ik krijg dat soort nepmails en smsjes van alle banken. Het maakt dus ook niet uit dat je zojuist OP MASTODON HEBT GEZET DAT JE BIJ BUNQ ZIT 🤫

@stux de reeksen uitgegeven 06-nummers zijn bekend dus daar kun je eenvoudig alle nummers uit genereren en eventueel de ‘afgekoelde’ nummers nog uithalen maar ik denk dat ze die moeite niet eens doen maar gewoon random nummers proberen binnen de bekende prefixes

@stux Dikke kans dat ze dat gewoon naar een zwik willekeurige nummers hebben gestuurd.Ik krijg ook regelmatig troep "van de Rabobank", terwijl ik daar nog nooit een rekening heb gehad.

@stux @WillyECoyote69 Zij sturen smsjes naar alle 06 nummers. Zij bellen nummers gelijk dat in VS want er geen nummers zijn alleen voor mobieltjes hier. Mijn familie had nummers naast elkaar, zo zij belde mijn broer, dan mijn pa, dan ik.Als iemand belt me nu en ik de nummer niet herken, antwoord ik zij niet.

@stux @WillyECoyote69 could be you MSP (mobile service provider), which almost always leaks your information with numbers. And maybe they have obtained some information about or just guessed that you use one of these services. 🤷♂️

@stux @bigtree i had this happen to me a couple of times as well. It’s just a matter of coincidence most of the time. It’s possible that they could’ve linked both together, but you would more than likely get a letter in your mailbox or email in your inbox from a spoofed email address at that point (because if they were spear phishing you, they would probably go to insane lengths to get you to submit me sensitive information more than likely to be honest with you).

@stux kan ook een datalek bij een andere partij zijn. Telefoon aanbieder, glasvezel, elektra, gas, water. Allemaal hebben ze toegang tot combi van je naam en rekeningnummer.
