Providing palliative care is the closest I can get to end of life treatment without Losing It™️. I do wonder if there is a speciality out there that is focused on palliative radiation therapy. It is very humbling to play such an important role in the final stage of someone’s life cycle.

@Shagatron What's palliative radiation therapy like? I wouldn't have assumed those words go together.

@tek For RT, it’s basically a dose or doses of radiation large enough to cause a reduction in swelling / tumor mass to ease pain (Pinched nerves, brain swelling, spinal pinching). The dose has to be relatively large to provide timely relief, which is only doable when we know a patient won’t have enough time to experience the side effects of such a large dose further down the line.

@Shagatron Wow, I didn't even know that was an option. Thanks for the link! I’ll read that later.
