@ned The Nazis won WWII, or rather, the Oligarchs WWII project was largely successful. The entirety of their power is to make people fight/hate/kill/steal from each other. To use our evolutionary advantages against us. There is almost no other power they wield or require. Just the power to make us all hate each others as much as possible...sometimes just the desperation of needing food but also the lies that start wars.

@cook yeah, I don't trust Steven Pinker. He has rose coloured classes for liberalism. He thinks everything good in the world is because of it, and everything bad is due to lack of it. In the same was communists think everything is better with more communism.

@ned but his charts dont lie even if you dont agree with the conclusions he draws from them. Better angels was like watching him crack a nut with a sledgehammer just when you think he is finished a topic he gives you another chart and another and another he really snows you under with evidence.

@ned I also find him to be a good antidote for radical/extreme thinking, I have bought Better Angels for a leftist nihilist friend and rationality for a leftist neurotic friend, i think it helped them. Whereas they wouldn't even give look at Peterson or Christian sources.
