@stux tipping is getting out of hand here. The other day I was buying some candy at a candy shop and the clerk turns the screen around for me to select the percentage of tip I wanted to give. I found candy on a shelf and carried it by myself to the checkout. The only thing the clerk did was say hi and then let me tap my phone on their checkout.

@bryanhansel It's insane.. :amaze: I rarely tip and only in cases of mega bad weather or when they really go out of their way for me otherwise nooooohThey should earn a normal paycheck without needing to beg for tips, it's absurdWeb devs be like:"Here is your website for 1000 bucks, how much would you like to tip?"

@stux I legit wonder if #Doordash realizes, even in America, we all know tipping only exists because employees are paid so little they're forced to beg for money, and this is just doubling down on a bad look.

@stux We tip because delivery people don't make a livable wage. Tip them. 15-20% is customary.

@stux Tips once were for exceptional service. Then for getting service at all. And now tipping for NO service at all?I mean, at the very least I wanna know how long they took before deciding on amount of tip...

@stux Worst part is when the food delivery driver delivers your pizza and it looks like he went to track his car with it. I had to send a photo to prove the toppings were not on the pizza! 🍕 It’s happened many times. The drivers expect a tip first but some have no care with our food. Wrong delivery address, spilled food etc.

@stux I was amazed when I was in America: I just don't understand. Tipping is needed to grant people a living wage? Unheard of! Stop tipping and force companies to pay their employees well, stop forcing customers to complete their paychecks.It's getting out of control in The Netherlands as well, by the way. Tipping demand is rampant, also due to Ferengi urges. I refuse to play. But if even online tipping is getting required, gosh... And will they sent 'used' instead of 'new' for vengeance?
