I quoted a customer £750 for consultancy, and the customer wrote a complaining email to my Director, who forwarded it to me, the inference being, "Work something out, Pete." I replied to my director that another company involved is getting consultancy, so why shouldn't we? My Director replied, "I am on site; you need to sort this."I suspect I shouldn't respond:"So you're doing one thing; I have eight to deal with!!"How to become unemployed in one easy lesson.

@george I don't do discounts or "Money off." I remember a conversation with a new account manager I had at ESET (Ant-Virus) where I told him I get RRP on all my sales. He nearly choked on his coffee. "But none of my other accounts get RRP?" you need better resellers!

@cortexuvula Yep. I can literally hear their brains saying, "Does not compute." when they ask me how much for two and I respond "The same price as one, only double."I'm not sure why people think a price you give them is like being in some bazaar where they get to haggle. 🤷♂️

@george Hmm? One of my colleagues has already worked out a discount even before he has presented the quote. It drives me insane! I'm like, "You should be able to sell that, and if you're really desperate to close the deal and there really is no way to demonstrate the value for money, then is the time your mental calculator works out where you can shave a few quid off not before you've even started. That's a sign of failure in my book.
