@evrys you're not creating God. You're studying genetics. A field that was pioneered by Gregor Mendel, a Catholic monk in the order of Saint Augustine. You're looking at genetic language or living information or logos and logos is is God. So yes.... as tacky as the event is, it's not out of place in the Church. Science is not contrary to God. It is of God. Your pseudo-edgy Redditor atheist rhetoric doesn't really work.

@Eiregoat @evrys This was done with the explicit goal of sacrilege. It happened not only in Russia but all across the Eastern bloc. Churches were turned into other uses including a "temple of science" as in this case.There is also the matter of diminishing the value of a place of worship into aesthetics.

I know. Just saying there's an unintentional message there which is based.Have you read northern lights? It's pretty fedorific, but there's a really good scene in there where an experimental theologian (physicist) gives a sermon (lecture) on a photomill (crooke's radiometer).I'd like if theology and science were desegregated like that. I think it'd hold theologians to a higher standard and also make sure physical scientists didn't wander off too far into material reductivism.
