       @lamp depending on the chip they use, you can try jailbraking them and then use some open source firmware, like Tasmota

       @lamp Many smart devices act like this if they can't reach their cloud. Including stuff like robot vacuums.If connections to their cloud fail, they are hard-coded to just turn wifi on/off until they hit an SSID which can reach their cloud.Which is also a common reason why some smart devices have a seizure whenever their cloud is down
