@gnu2 Nothing, IMO. I believe it makes sense given the Catholic/EO position on state of grace and our soul. That some choose to not talk of it is separate; after death is a mystery besides knowing we will one day stand before God and rage judgement and that Christ died for us to atone for our sins and offer us salvation.

I know what I've read in books, asked detailed questions about, and talk with my priest and others about. There's a difference. Ultimately it doesn't matter, because none of it has anything to do with the truth of Christianity. Traditions are there for us for specific reasons, including respectful reverence and teaching, but we don't believe the traditions save us or do anything specific besides help us in our worship of God and pursuit of Theosis (sanctification in the West, and I'll fight you in that point if you wish, but not tonight).
