       it's interesting how ethernet does like, 10, 100, 1000Mbps, but DSL can do a whole bunch of different bandwidths between like 0.1Mbps and 300Mbps

       @yassie_j @izaya VDSL is designed to run over legacy crappy cables. Ethernet is designed to run over purpose-designed cables.

       @izaya That's because each Ethernet is a completely new design for specific conditions, and DSL is a design that adapts to varying conditions because some people's phone lines are better by chance. They say you can run DSL over wet string, or a chain-link fence.
