@JMaverickJacks1 Blade wasn't a vampire he was a dhampir. Blacula was a vampire.

@ecksearoh Blade is a half-vampiric day-walker with fangs, which makes him a vampire under the same “one-drop rule” that the U.S. Census applied to African-Americans when Blade was born in the segregated 1960s.

@JMaverickJacks1 Only the MCU Blade is American. The comic book Blade was born in 1929 London. Ah the one drop rule. If that was still a thing I wouldn't be black, I'd be Syrian. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blade_%28character%29?wprov=sfla1

@ecksearoh Interesting factoid about the comic-book Blade being from 1920s London. Somehow I overlooked that fact reading early Blade stories in Marvel’s 1970s “Tomb of Dracula.” Blade looked a lot younger than his 50s back then, and he would be almost 100 now. Thanks for the insight.

@JMaverickJacks1 Good on you! I'm still surprised that the Imaro, S.T.A.R. Corps and Lady Cop pages I built are sill there. Back in the day a lot of black heroes from DC and Marvel didn't have pages so I built them. Quite a few like Chunk were later absorbed into list pages.

@ecksearoh I have no idea how to launch new Wikipedia pages; I just correct and document information on existing pages. Or at least I used to do so before deciding that I was wasting my time in edit wars with folks insistent on publishing undocumented pseudo-facts and unsupportable opinions. So, I now consider Wikipedia to be “the world’s most respected source of ignorance.”🤪

@JMaverickJacks1 oh I got into huge wars with this user called JGreb who kept editing, merging, or deleting pages I built about black superheroes. Kept getting told by mods about how I needed to stop accusing him of bias and just assume good faith. Back then it seemed so important. And now I realize how ridiculous it all was.

@ecksearoh I don’t consider digital genocide to be good faith. People with a consistent mission of erasing black history have a discriminatory motive for doing so, just as Holocaust deniers do, and other folks who always want to downplay/edit/merge/delete the history of Native Americans, Latinos and other non-Trumpster demographics.

@mayonesa @ecksearoh And what would be the purpose of erasing the Constitutional amendments banning slavery, guaranteeing Equal Protection to all Americans, requiring state governments to respect the Bill of Rights, and giving the right to vote to racial minorities, to women, and to other natural-born citizens above the age of 18?🤨
