42 years ago"Nazi Punks Fuck Off" is the fifth and (for me) most important single by the Dead Kennedys, released in late October/early November 1981 on Alternative Tentacles. The single included a free armband with a crossed-out swastika on it.#punk #punks #punkrock #deadkennedys #nazipunksfuckoff #history #punkrockhistory #otd

@historyofpunkrock I just want to take a moment to be serious.I am so happy that this (History of Punk Rock) exists! :)Most people that I know don't listen to punk, so when I find a nice place to read/chat about it... it's a like a beautiful garden with good people enjoying the weather. Thanks to everyone that is part of this!I can only hope that a 'history of industrial' would come into existence... :)

@historyofpunkrock I recall seeing "the history of punk" on VH1 20+ years ago. Green Day was talking about this song and how it shocked them, and really got them into punk...And then to listen to their music and wonder "uhhh... are you sure that you're punk?" because their music is very much not punk, doesn't challenge much at all, and is played in elevators. There won't be a single Dead Kennedys song played in an elevator, let alone on VH1 or MTV (if they exist or show videos anymore).
