       I heard Elon Musk might turn on starlink over Gaza if he gets permission from USA/ Israel/UN. Which is interesting because I was watching Al Jazeera live and I literally saw some random guy in the middle of  pile of rubble walking around with his directv dish on a pole like he was trying to get a signal as they were reporting all internet and communications are off in Gaza. So I am guessing he must have prepaid his starlink subscription or someone is telling them Elon is going turn it on

       @NoBeret @Luthercoleman it's all kind of nonsense though. I just looked at the "coverage" map thing and it shows all the middle east as places where they still don't have license to operate, but that only means you can't order starlink if you're there. If I were to switch my residential plan to "global roaming" thing, I could take it to Israel or Gaza and it would work just fine.

And that's also why when you get residential plan you're limited to what they call "cell" 25-ish kilometers across and if you move your antenna any further you need to pay for the move. But when you switch to roaming plan that restriction is removed.

       @Luthercoleman spectrum analysis is looking at what the antenna is collecting (radio waves) . A sat can broadcast without sending any data , just like a wifi router not hooked up to anything. they are basically used to make sure you pointed directly at the correct sat transponder and adjust for for max signal.
