The bigger blogs about linux and devops is filled with articles/guides that do not work.Someone thought that it was a good idea to let bot write the articles because the writes was to lazy figuring out how shit works.I've recently found reliability in blogspot blogs where the author does not care about looks, money (ADs), or if there is any visitors at all to the site. Those are usually the best guides/tutorials

What I have learned about the "generative AI" hype:- "Anyone" can "write" a stupid text, it does not matter if it is true or not- Content on youtube is more trash than ever.- AI-bros that STILL jerks of to the idea of shatGPT- People are believing stupid shit that the bots are hallucinating- Companies smash "POWER BY AI" on products, like camera with motion detection.

@selea True. Bigger blogs / youtube channels / whatever = money. Money makes people want more money. And how to get more money? Post more "content".

@selea For whatever that might be worth, I do my best to ensure that what I post on my blog actually works. And each post is laboriously handcrafted, stored and delivered using 100% recycled electrons!

@selea once again, as come with most web issues, Google is to blame. SEO and other totalitarian standards by Google have made surfing the internet a nightmare even for the most experienced. They incentivise spammy, outdated content in favour of centralised silos and completely arbitrary checklist of things that are not related to content quality, usefulness for the users, or even relevancy of the search queries at times.

@selea #aiconfab is more accurate. Feeding #ChatGPT English to translate into #Lojban and then (in a new chat) back into English is, quite literally, #surrealism and part of my morning routine!

@selea I feel like in a couple of months, each lemon you buy will include its own AI assistant, just to jump on the AI hype and be able to mention AI somewhere on the product page.

@selea I suspect another bubble like the dot-com one from the 90s, but this time it will be about companies boasting about AI, even though not having anything to do with actual AI. Something similar to what historically happened, when companies that had nothing to do with the Internet were putting a ".com" suffix as part of their names.

@selea I would really appreciate it if people would put a date at the top of their posts, though. I've seen a lot of information that appeared useful at first glance, only to find out it was ten years out of date.So many articles don't have a visible publishing date.

@selea yeah agree, I should probably write some how-to-guides and also credit the blog articles I used to help me along.
