       Maybe #Microsoft could waste less money on dicking around with "AI" an spend a few bucks to fix their fucking abysmal OneDrive app? Dropbox had that shit figured out years ago (and then messed it all up to "grow").Workflow: Copy a .docx file into my OneDrive. It gets synced to the cloud. I now can no longer edit the local file on my machine in my OneDrive space because "Permissions changed" or whatever. Fucking useless.

       @tante This is hype driven development. OneDrive is a hygiene product, everybody assumes something like that is there. AI is new, that's where everybody spends $$$. Don't expect anything.

       I just want to put a file in a folder, it gets backed up and I can share that folder with others. It's not a super impossible request really. Maybe the Microsoft engineers can ask ChatGPT or whatever since they themselves also don't seem to care about their code actually working.

       @tanteWell, this changes things. So you go with Onedrive, files missing sync, high cpu load out of nothing and the other usual stuff. Did you open a ticket with MS support? I think more people should di this.

       @toxomat Because the company already pays for MS365 (for office licenses and Email) and I don't want to add another big block of expenses for something probably not well integrated into our infrastructure.

       @tante No help for you right now, but I cannot recommend Strato HiDrive enough. They have a real human support team, and if they can't help, they escalate the issue to the actual developers and they contact you. This is so beautiful, I moves you to tears. :-)

       @tante Add on top that OneDrive can silently crash and stops syncing. When people work on office documents concurrently, the person without a running OneDrive process edits a local version from the cache that needs to be merged manually. I've lost a few hours of christmas 2021 to this.Not sure if Microsoft eats their own dogfood. User Experience of OneDrive was not great for me.
