So what's the current situation with the Middle East? Feels like everyone is standing around with their dicks in their hands. A week of saber rattling and then nothing. Did Israel overestimate the support it thought it had for a full on push into Gaza? Is America trying to set up a scenario where it can "help" by stoking tensions with Iran. Are other Middle Eastern nations going to band together and give 67 a second try? I keep seeing articles and news stories but no one has pushed the button so to speak. As far as the American perspective can it even afford more slapfights? We keep sending boatloads of money and materials to Ukraine for a conflict that is a slow burn and will probably be a skirmish over mere miles back and forth for the foreseeable future. That's on top of terrible job reports (looking at the insane discrepancy between seasonal worker hiring's last year and this), inflation, cost of living, interest rates on homes, prices for both used and new vehicles.I know the world is run by retards but could these waterbrains perhaps at least lay out what there amazing plan for fucking us all even more is in a semi comprehensible manner?

@Jim To answer your questions in order:1. Israel is bombing the shit out of Gaza but has not gone in yet. Unclear why. Maybe unprepared or maybe it's Bibi's long-standing aversion to ground invasions.2. America does not want to "help". Biden wants Iran to have nukes at all costs for some reason, despite Iran seemingly doing anything it possibly can to make him see it's a bad idea, for some reason.3. Hamas is desperately trying to antagonize Arabs inside Israel and in countries near Israel to go on a killing spree, but no one is taking the bait. Occasionally Iran will have one of its proxies fire some rockets into Israel from Syria, Lebanon or Yemen, but no one is fooled into thinking that this is the countries themselves doing it. A possible war with Lebanon is in the cards, but who knows.

The Hamas raid that started this latest cycle and the response are choices.Hezbollah’s limited attacks to date … well, I suppose it’s a choice for Israel to hammer a ATGM team that just attacked from across the border, but it’s pretty much a necessary. And it wasn’t a choice for the IDF to respond to the Hamas raid and to properly seal the border with Gaza.Similarly, Hamas could flee northern Gaza instead of fighting if the IDF invades, but fighting is pretty much necessary for a variety of reasons. And no matter where they are, Israel will never stop hunting the ones most responsible for the raid.Other things to remember: Israel does third generation warfare massively better than Arabs (at the other end, see how often they fail in Yemen!!), and no current threat is one of those in the first place; does any neighbor other than Egypt even have an intact military?? In that generation, the jihadist infantry Israel is facing vs. their combined arms of infantry plus armor, artillery and close air support makes a real invasion by Hamas or Hezbollah impossible. Thus the latter being limited to raids and rockets, to alliterate their tools.If Hezbollah truly has “100,000” or “130,000” rockets and missiles that’s a really serious threat to Israel. But it has many ways to respond, including attacking Iran and/or its leadership in limited ways to going literally nuclear (they’ve got some words of art to describe that I now forget) without any fallout danger to speak of for Iran and likely manageable for Lebanon.I assume nobody wants to go there although I’ve read it’s congruent with various religious movements including the Twelvers who run Iran, and some fraction of evangelical Christians in the US. Iran in return poses a threat to shipping for a huge fraction of the world’s supply of oil and LNG.
