       @RickiTarr At the very minimum, donate to an organization that (tries to) feed and house the homeless.Except the Salvation Army. F* these people.

       @ParadeGrotesque @RickiTarr They used to be my favourite charity, in fact, because as a young lawyer I'd see them in court every day giving pro bono assistance to get people bail. But times and perspectives have changed.

       @SonofaGeorge @ParadeGrotesque I think they are better than Goodwill in that a significant amount of money actually goes to helping people, BUT the anti LGBTQ rhetoric is a hard no.

       @RickiTarr @ParadeGrotesque For years now I've just skipped the middleman and donate directly to food banks. Virtually every cent then goes to the folks that need it (and food banks would rather receive your $$ than your food donations; makes sense.)
