Btw. some might know it, some might not:I run @hypebot, a bot that picks up and reposts popular posts from a bunch of different instances to bring some extra discoverability and serendipity to your feed.If you want to have a server added (or blocked) you can just ping me (or open a pull request on the config repo you nerds).

Just to be clear: I don't do manual content filtering on @hypebot, my curatory work is just adding/removing servers to the rotation or the filterlist. So @hypebot is not an expression of what I believe, think or even agree with. I have manually removed reposts that I absolutely could not live with (there was one that I considered racist for example) but it happened maybe twice so far.

@tante @hypebot great idea. Thank you!I personally would appreciate a second bot with higher threshold. Rather 1-5 toots/d with higher average rank then several more that lead, in my humble opinion, to a perception near spambot. :blobcatangel:

@tante Thanks for that! I don't really get it regarding the posts it does share, isn't it the top toots? Because I see sometimes toots from big instances like mastodon.social with only few shares and two comments. What are the "trending" parameters?Also, I guess we only may suggest adding English speaking instances? (otherwise I'd fancy one of, I think, the biggest French instances, piaille.fr 😁)

@Ockham the servers I query have top posts in their explore section. Those are the ones I pick up.This could lead to posts from tldr.nettime.org to appear as top posts on chaos.social that I then pick up. Does that make sense?
