@mhjohnson "cis" was used liberally (no pun intended) and possibly created on Tumblr long before it hit the mainstream as a way for "queer folks" to other straight people and give them a taste of their own medicine, so to speak. eventually it was just subsumed into the lexicon as the Tumblr kids went on to graduate college and take their unchallenged views with them into the world
