       Nice! It seems Mastodon will eventually move from the "favourites" wording to "likes" and stars to hearts for the icon. @elk is half way there already, and I think we called it like when the project started and switched to align with the default UI.

       @shaedrich @elk It is called "like" in ActivityPub. And it seems it was called "favourite" in Mastodon because that was the name in Twitter at the time. In the issue there is more information, favourite could be confused with bookmark by a lot of people for example.https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/13268

       @patak Well, since, unlike on Twitter, favorites don't contribute to any "algorithm" like reboots do, they are, in fact, indeed somewhat like bookmarks.But I can't argue, doing it for the sake of consistency—the wording would need to be questioned at ActivityPub level then if wanted.
