       Governor Newsom vetoed the California bill to prohibit discrimination based on caste.        @rms I really don't agree with Newsom on anything, but he's right on this.Caste system is not allowed at USA or many countries with anti-discrimination laws. A law like that would be redundant and likely discriminatory on Indian people.(Quoted claim supposedly proving Newsom wrong gives 404)Now, Caste system still exist beyond thr law, and that's fine. A law doesn't change people behavior. Only dictators and totalitarian regimes would think that otherwise.All laws are intended to be followed by lawful people only. A nation or population who is not entirely lawful would make any law a dead law.How do you enforce it? Cops, armed police, secret service, name it. By force. Again, dictators and totalitarian regimes.
