@stux haven't watched (yet), but I tend to disagree. If "they" push the big red button(s) they will lose their revenue models (ie: us). There's no money to be spend during a nuclear winter. We won't be buying new iPhones anytime soon.

@jarno It's not as much about the rich in this case I think :ablobwink: more like uh.. most of they do have a bunker or whatever somewhere so they "could ride it out" for example while the rest of us disappear

The pendulum has to swing in the other direction eventually, no matter how crazy things get it has to start at least balancing out even if there is no correction in sight.The Unions are very close to bankrupting a lot of institutions all at once, for example. They must start shedding jobs and closing shops.Not to mention the unhinged PACs and NGOs. They must run out of donations.I too second the economic depression and job loss.

Not to mention the secular cycle described by people like Peter Turchin warning us of massive civil unrest. It'll mean changes and in many ways that could be very positive when it's all done, but eras like the French Revolution were tragic and horrible times even if they were triggered for the right reasons.

I did some calculations a while back, and while nobody can deny nuclear war would be the worst thing to ever occur, it wouldn't be the end of he world. Thankfully, there's a lot fewer nuclear weapons today than at its peak by a massive margin.Hopefully if the powers that be press the shiny candy-like button someone will eventually have the presence of mind to take it away from them.
