I crossed the bridge and started to write a #greasemonkey script to redirect all #mastodon instances to #elk . But is there somewhere a machine processable instance list? (I know https://instances.social provides an API, but I'm quite reluctant to use an API key for each user, the alternative being to have a github project providing a proxy). So, #lazyweb, is there any text list available on the internet ?

@Riduidel feel free to use the same api key for everyone, that's okay. there are no rate limits or private info or anything like that.

@TheKinrar Well, in fact, I did exactly what I promised1. A GitHub action (https://github.com/Riduidel/mastodon-on-elk/actions) fetches your site each week (no more)2. A GreaseMonkey script loads that list in my browser each week (no more) and use it to see if url is a fediverse oneAnd it works very well (the hardest part was using Javascript promises to work with GreaseMonkey api)
