@boilingsteam Although I don't love this, I don't mind paying for a service I actually use. I use YouTube a lot, so I pay.Now what really grinds my gears are services that only offer ads and no paid option and still have the nerve to act like this.

@wagesj45 Youtube will still exploit your data and sell it to third parties even if you pay for youtube, so I'm never going to give them any cent. I want the "pay and no tracking, no logging" option or nothing.

@boilingsteam @ridge time to use a YouTube frontend like piped or invidious ... I find that https://yewtu.be always works, and it holds subscriptions as well if you have an account. No comments though:(

@boilingsteam Seems to be hit & miss, almost like they're A/B testing different anti-adblock methods. @lewdthewides A big chunk of that money also goes to content creators. Almost every channel need that money to create more content. Don't like the service? Don't use it. It's that simple. Nothing is free and calling out people for paying for a service is hilarious. Am I also giving Netflix a tip by paying for it when I can pirate the TV show I'm watching? Or I suppose I should just torrent music instead of "tipping" Spotify.

@boilingsteam I could never get an ad blocker to work with YouTube. So I use smarttube instead. Somehow they figured it out and packaged it all together
