       @TrevorGoodchild Reminds me of something I heard once about palestinians technically being the last semitic people in the world because the definition of semitic is that they speak a specific type of language and the palestinian language is the last of that kind being spoken. Technically making Israel the only anti-semites in the world. I should look into this properly as it would be pretty hilarious if true.

       @EHP @TrevorGoodchild The definition of "Semitic" is that one is a descendant of Shem (Shem-itic) and so conflating the linguistic definition with ethnic is pretty meaningless. Pretty much the entire middle east is a descendant of Shem. Palestinians specifically, like all Arabs, are even closer relatives of modern Jews in that they are descended from Abraham's first born, Ishmael, which then re-married into the line of Jacob via Zipporah of Midia to Moses.Both peoples claiming descent from Shem does make it quite ridiculous when Jews screech "anti-Semitism" for criticising their treatment of Palestinians.
