A new low, even for #Google. Giving Google permission to share information about you with third-party websites is being falsely advertised as an "ad privacy feature". This is privacy washing at its most extreme. But it gets even worse. There is a dark pattern on the second screenshot. It isn't just informing you about the fake privacy features. Clicking on "Got it" actually turns on these features that allow Google to use your recent browsing history for ads on third-party websites:

@jcoI use Librewolf. Best privacy browser I have found to date. Firefox is owned by Google, FYI. Don't trust them either.@protonmail

Basically agreed though after a bit of reading I extremely reluctantly went for FF my last time around. I am not really convinced it leaves one in a more vulnerable position than using the Librewolf fork. It’s almost 100% funded by dark money as you say most likely Google and/or (other) state actors. If Chromium is needed for some reason I’d probably recommend Brave

@protonmail I don't understand how choice of ads you see is a selling point.

@protonmail Also interesting how the font weight of the parts they want you to focus on is more pronounced. Edit: And hiding more information on the topic behind a click as well as just making the text itself grey. Makes me think about the time I listened to a podcast which featured someone who had studied philosophy and was told to evaluate when it’s ethical to send push notifications. This is just nuts.
