@stux for those interested, this is a Finnish construction method, which is really impressive approachable. Essentially a kit house built like LEGO.It was featured on Grand Designs.

@stux So... why aren't we recycling plastic into planks like that to build tiny houses to help the poor ??

@mtrigo Well, it's not a good idea this way for housing without isolatio for example πŸ˜‰ Depends a little on the location but mostly this is okay for a shed for example

@stux Check out these plastic recycled boards and boardwalks. There's also playground equipment and benches made from recycled plastic that's been formed into planks. I recently taught at a school that had bought all its yard benches and communal seating from here. Much tougher than wood. @stux This would solve so many housing problems everywhere. But i guess it’s not hugely profitable for CEOs to buy gigayachts from.

@stux It looks nice, my neighbour built a shed in the garden from this. For some strange reason, designers think, that once parts are clicked in, they will stay together with a magic force. I have seen my neighbour trying to hold the roof of it during strong wind. It basically flew off. In comparison my party tent (screwed to the concrete floor) stayed in place, with only damaged fabric. When you build one for yourself, think about how to keep it together during strong wind.

@stux "Hirsipuu" as the wood is called in Finnish, is normal way of building vacation housing and overall housing in the archipelago, as no machinery is required.

@stux if I could afford soke land and this kind of slabs of wood, I'd put up the structure myself - maybe with a little bit of help - and hire others to do the plumbing and the wiring and all that.I also wouldn't paint the walls inside. I love the look of natural wood.
