What's with the recent denial of Jews being indigenous to the Levant? Do people think that us being indigenous to the area excuses what the damn state of Israel does to the Palestinians????? What a weird idea

@Cheezebell If being indigenous have any meaning in politics, we should start with bringing all the white people back to Europe.

@Birdie @Cheezebell There are too many white people (this sentence could end here.)But there are too many white people in Europe too. They think it’s “theirs”. That they “belong.” The irony of turning the tables on “White Europe” is worth a chuckle, though. The trick is abolishing that hellish construction that is whiteness altogether, across the board. Making whiteness an impossible feature. This isn’t through any genetic means, of course, but culturally. That which constitutes “white,” as opposed to ethnically “germanic” or “scandinavian” or whatever other specific, non lumped-together cultural identities ; needs to undergo a comprehensive disentangling into meaninglessness, dissolving the solidarity that has united and driven oppressor classes for a long time. (These examples are also congealed, lumped-together constructions, and also require the same but deeper disentangling.)Indigenaity is relative - all regions and groups are not inherently tied up in some magical state of ownership or belonging. It’s the resistance to omnicidal values which stem from whiteness, and the presence of a history of being oppressed that’s conspicuous in indigenous cultures and a condition of (even tenuous) continuity between now and an uncolonized state which imbues a group with that political meaning, that doesn’t, and doesn’t need to affect some groups indigenairy to a place.Something that drives me fuckshit nuts is when people say “the Jewish flag” as though the colonialist settler state, the Amerikkkan satellite israel had the right to determine what the “Jewish flag” is.

@Birdie @Cheezebell perhaps racialized place based nationalism is in fact the worst way possible to understand indegenaity

@Cheezebell Um, I’m not sure if you’re being facetious, but the topic of Jews being indigenous to Palestine is a well-trod topic, especially among Jews, and there is no consensus on the matter to put it politely. It is frequently debated and has been for a long time. See Schlomo Sand among others if you want to read an interesting book about it.Biblically, Abraham is from Ur, which is not in the Levant. Moses was born in Egypt. The birthplace of Adam & Eve is not specified. 💁‍♀️
