Tuned my cheap acoustic guitar down a half step. I'm hoping this makes it easier to play. My guess is loose strings are easier to depress.Anyone else use alternative tunings on their guitar?

@Jack5150 I play 3 tunings on banjo and 2 on fiddle. On guitar I pretty much stay in standard but occasionally I tune a modified one based on banjo's "Double C". It has a modal drone that's tons of fun but kind of annoying because it's a huge drop for the low E to a C. If I get a second acoustic I'll probably get some custom strings for that tuning.

@Jack5150 if you want to build finger strength you can pick any chord and just push it down, let it up but keep your fingers on the string and push down again, repeat repeat etc. It not only helps build strength, its an excellent way to learn new chords.
