       @emmreef I am no lover of the extreme left.. but they certainly do have a point, these are all examples of nations who stole their land from existing indigenous peoples. While I wouldnt go so far as saying the solution is to abolish the countries there is a very valid point in there.

       @emmreef That said after more consideration there is one huge difference... genocide/apartheid... China and russia took over regions, but didnt exeterminate 99% of the people and then moved in... They moved in, they stole resources, so its worth being upset over... but extermination to take the land is definately one level above what china and russia does... not that they are **that** much better.

       @freemo it's very disingenuous to single out primarily Judeo-Christian countries for colonialism/imperialism when groups of people have subjugated other groups of people on every continent as long as humanity has existed.

       @emmreef Sure is, which is why I argued for comparison based on actual acts of apartheid rather than simply annexing land.If you know of any non-judeo-christian countries which murdered 99% of the people of a land before annexing it to put its own people on the land, then please, share, I'd love to increase my knowledge... I cant think of one off hand myself.

       @freemo the Qing Dynasty exterminated the Dzungar people in the 18th century. Russia exterminated the Cirassians people in the 19th century.  I'm sure there are more examples.

       @emmreef Sorry I was busy..So yes, but that wasnt what we were discussing.. We both agree there are whtie and non-white genocides... we also both agree there were white and non-white annexes. What we were discussing is examples of genocide used along with anexing to create the modern day country.With the china and the Dzungar people, for example, the Dzungar historic territory does not lie within modern day china (it is to the north west). So it wouldnt be an example.The russian example would be a good one, even if it only makes up a small part of russia, that one definitely counts.
