       @stux That looks like a commercially sold handheld to me. You can contact the ISS on 145.800 here in the UK not sure what it is in the US. Ive spoken to them. I mean theres nothing in the way so its quite easy not to take away from the accomplishment

       @stux Oh yeah, this is a thing.  Most astronauts on the ISS have a ham radio license.  Ham radio has definitely changed over the years.We still can’t talk to aliens though, or communicate through a rift in the time space continuum (the movie “Frequency”).  Darn it.
