An aspect of the cumulative effects is the combination of volume and velocity. In other words a whole lot of stuff happening very quickly. In this accelerated environment, many people with skin in the game and exposure to various (legal) risks are confronted with a choice, i.e., brazen it out, or bolt for the exits.

The various elements of the political economy must be thrust into disarray and set in motion in a manner that calls into question a wide range of potential outcomes such that previously safe havens become uncertain.

The present question of the Speaker of the House is fascinating and tantalising. But how it plays out is unknowable at the moment but what is obvious is that previously stable processes and positions are shifting and LOTS of people who thought they had a handle on what is coming next are now a fair bit less certain today than a week ago.

Through all of this growing instability, this growing tempest, we have a sober helmsman. Trump is riding the waves, leaning on the tiller, and keeping on course towards a MAGA future. The more insane the instability becomes, the more obvious his ability to navigate those waters will be.
