@KevinStandlee I think you are correct about the con venue. If you search on Baidu maps for 成都科学馆 it takes you to https://map.baidu.com/poi/%E6%88%90%E9%83%BD%E7%A7%91%E5%AD%A6%E9%A6%86/@11561442.854999995,3584330.0559709254,16z/maptype%3DB_EARTH_MAP?uid=51c78d153a18aad59de32163&ugc_type=3&ugc_ver=1&device_ratio=1&compat=1&pcevaname=pc4.1&querytype=detailConInfo&da_src=shareurl , which matches the Google Maps location on your post.I think there's a Sheraton overlooking the venue, so that's hopefully where you've been booked. (I think there aren't any other hotels nearby, judging by complaints I've seen from Chinese fans.)

@ErsatzCulture Thank you. While I'd initially thought I might try to use transit, I think it's probably going to be worth it to pay for a taxi, assuming we can explain to the driver to which Sheraton we want to go.

@ErsatzCulture If that hotel is the one Sawyer posted, and if the convention site is what we seem to have been pointed at, that's a 50-90 km trip between the hotel and the convention center!

@KevinStandlee I don't know if you've just seen the comment I posted on File 770, but based on the schedule document published today, I have no idea where the WSFS business meeting is being held.The location is apparently “World Science Fiction Park Meteor Museum” aka 世界科幻公园流星馆, but I'm not getting any search results for either of those terms, other than that event schedule document itself.

@ErsatzCulture He was told the same hotel name as they told us: "Chengdu Tianfu Hengbang Sheraton." Try putting that into Google Maps. It doesn't actually resolve: it just gives you a partial match on the name Tiafu, and assuming that place with the artificial lake to which I've linked before is the actual convention site, it's up to 50 km away!I think it's probably the Sheraton Lido Pidu. One of the other people has that address on their visa invitation letter. (I have no address on mine.)

@KevinStandlee Aha, they are using different names for the hotel in English and Chinese.If you go to http://www.sheraton-chengdu.com/en?pc it says "Sheraton Chengdu Pidu", but if you go to the Chinese-language version of the same site http://www.sheraton-chengdu.com/ it says "成都恒邦天府喜来登酒店", which is "Chengdu Hengbang Tianfu Sheraton Hotel". I think the Lido one is indeed a separate hotel though.

@ErsatzCulture @KevinStandlee The address (560 Huashi West Street,Pidou District,Chengdu,Sichuan) shows up on Google Maps. The convention center doesn't, presumably because it hasn't opened yet.

@KevinStandlee I mentioned the hotel confusion to one of my Chinese contacts, and he confirmed "Hengbang Tianfu" is the correct one by the lake, and that RJS linked to a different hotel.
