All apps should default to dark mode.

Light mode apps make my eyes hurt, eventually give me a migraine, and all around make it harder for me to focus 🤷🏾♂️

@Wolven my cataract makes light modes with thin, dark typefaces in particular blinding. Google Docs, for example.

@CptSuperlative Can but usually don't start that way by default. The number of things I still have to go in and change is infuriating

@Wolven I get what you're saying but I'm the exact opposite. Dark mode gives my eyes intense inverse-color afterimages, blurriness, and after a short time I have to stop looking. Eventually gives me headaches. User choice is the way

@Wolven I want to use dark mode more but most of them are doing a poor job with it and makes it useless for me because of my astigmatism. I can only use it if it’s well designed or have additional options to play around with the color scheme. (I have a whole rant about it in me, waiting for the right time to write.)

@Wolven All dark background in dark mode should be total black not a flamboyantly radiant grey. Looking at you #firefox android app.

@Wolven I'm working very hard (when I have the capacity) to make my app just use the default system theme (without flashing the wrong one) but as a fallback I'm making the default dark, because dark mode may be visually confusing for those who don't like it but light mode is outright painful immediately, bc it flashes at you

@futureheads242 Yeah I don't understand the idea of being rude to people about their needs or even their preferences. Different people are different, and as long as you aren't harming others with your preferences, there's just no need to do anything other than shrug and say "I hope you get a thing that works for you"
